Project description
The 48-hectare site of the Audi production facility in Münchsmünster is located approximately 30 kilometers east of Ingolstadt. A competence center for the production of body parts made of die-cast aluminum and of hot- and cold-formed components as well as chassis components is located there on 31 hectares.
Production is now running at full speed, with more than 700 employees working in three shifts. High-tech and innovation – with the components from Münchsmünster, Audi underscores its leading role in lightweight automotive engineering. The form-hardened steel sheets and die-cast aluminum parts combine light weight with high strength and highest precision. Their production shifts the limits of the feasible and drives progress forward. The plants recover energy and heat in all three trades. The cleaning of exhaust air and waste water as well as the noise protection are state-of-the-art.
