Munich Airport - Extension Terminal 1

The expansion of Terminal 1 serves to increase the quality of service and the quality of stay as well as a demand-oriented production of the non-Schengen area, taking into account the Five-Star claim of Munich Airport.
The 340-meter-long new building connects at right angles to the existing Terminal 1 and includes the area with the departure gates, also known as the pier, as well as the core of the building with its retail stores and food and beverage areas. In total, the gross floor area amounts to three floors and around 90,000 m². Level 3 houses central immigration, baggage claim and departure gates for aircraft that cannot be handled directly at the building. Departure gates are planned for Level 4 and arrival gates for Level 5. This is also where the central security and passport controls will be located. The highlight of the new building will be the marketplace located on levels 4 and 5, which will feature high-end retail stores, food outlets and spacious lounge areas.
This premium area will give waiting passengers the opportunity to discover numerous stores and restaurants and to spend time in comfortable, inviting waiting areas.
